Recent

We recently held the “Anything that floats day” which was a great success.  Approximately US$1000.00 was raised on the day which will be put towards a hospital located on the farm of which the event was held.  Many thanks must go to John Gray who was instrumental in the preparation of the venue.

The day started off with the construction of the floating vehicles, some of which ranged from being ingenious to absobloody ridiculous.  Blantyre 20’s raft fell under the latter category, and fortunately there were no ice burgs around as they might of met the same doom as the Titanic.  The races were all successfully completed with a very close finish in the final.

The party also started well, and it seemed as if it was going to run into the early hours of the morning until…  The heavens burst open and delivered 80mm of rain in 4 hours.  Needless to say the party was rained off and the rest of the evening was spent towing vehicles out of the mud.

To all the organizers, participants and sponsors, thank you very much for a very successful event which people as still talking about to date.  Special mention to Claudio and Asa as the convenours.

Coming

In the near future we shall be hosting a Golf Day, Anything That Floats Day, and hopefully a Beer Fest.  Details will be listed once they are finalized.  Money raised from these events have not been allocated as of yet.
